Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Good credit starts with knowing the asset.
Alexandra Pohl is the Chief Executive Officer of Fortuneo, a real asset credit, specialty finance and insurance platform building seven business lines: secured lending for real estate sponsors (Stata), short-term real estate credit (Copia), reinsurance (Redux), life and annuity insurance (Manens), equipment finance (Rota), maritime finance (Prora) and trade finance (Annona). She leads it on the conviction that good credit starts with understanding the asset and the operator behind it better than anyone else at the table. She chairs Fortuneo’s investment committee.
The foundation
Raised in a real estate family, Alexandra built early mastery in capital strategy and asset performance. She earned dual undergraduate degrees in Business Management and Exercise Science, competing as a Hall of Fame dual-sport NAIA D1 athlete, then deepened her competitive discipline through martial arts and an MBA in Global Business Management.
Operations
In the private sector, she spent seven-plus years at Toyota and Danfoss applying lean and TPS methodologies to complex multi-site operations: at Toyota she compressed project timelines and eliminated workflow waste; at Danfoss she standardized KPIs and tightened variance-to-budget across international programs.
Public service
She then spent eight-plus years in senior U.S. federal leadership on regulatory and infrastructure matters, and has personally directed $300 million or more in development and capital programs.
Fortuneo
At Fortuneo, those disciplines shape underwriting, portfolio monitoring and the controls every lending and insurance business needs. Alexandra runs Fortuneo with the controls regulated lending and insurance demand: written credit policies, independent risk review, monthly portfolio reporting on performance, concentration and loss, and capital and licensing plans for each business line. Insurance lines proceed only with the required regulatory approvals.
Hallmarks of leadership
Credit discipline
Alexandra underwrites the asset and the operator, not just the paperwork, and holds every business line to written credit and risk standards.
Investor alignment
She reports to investors the way she reports an operating asset: same metrics, same cadence, same candor. Expectations are written down before capital is committed, and no one is surprised at the board table.
Global mindset, local execution
Alexandra brings a global lens on markets and capital, then executes locally through hands-on partnership with every team.
“Good credit starts with knowing the asset better than anyone at the table.”
Alexandra Pohl, Chief Executive Officer, Fortuneo
“In lending, the controls are the product.”
“We run on the same numbers, reviewed the same week, every month. No one is surprised at the board table.”
Off the clock
Alexandra’s profit-with-purpose ethos holds that well-run businesses create value for the people they serve, the teams that run them and the capital partners who back them, simultaneously. Outside the boardroom, she channels that ethos through her lifelong passion for animal rescue, supporting shelters and rescue organizations (home includes her six dogs, among them Bentley, her Great Dane) because she believes leadership is measured not only by returns but by the lives improved along the way.

Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer
Two decades on the borrower’s side.
William Pohl III is the Chief Operating Officer of Fortuneo, a real asset credit, specialty finance and insurance platform building seven business lines spanning real estate lending, equipment, maritime and trade finance, reinsurance and life and annuity insurance. William spent two decades on the borrower’s side of real estate, building, financing and repositioning homes and communities, and at Fortuneo he owns the operating side: systems, servicing, teams and the day-to-day execution of each line. He is Co-Chair of Fortuneo’s investment committee.
The foundation
William grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, watching his father build one business after another: a CPA firm, real estate companies, a roofing company and a collector car dealership. His father gave him one rule he still runs on: never quitting gives you an advantage over 99% of the people. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from American Public University.
Trustpoint
He joined his father’s firm, Trustpoint Financial Corp., in 2001 as a project manager on job sites across the eastern United States. By 2005 he was Managing Partner, running the firm’s residential real estate funds, and through the 2008 collapse he kept building, bought while others sold, gave investors the hard truth before they had to ask and kept his team together.
Tetra Homes and Majorwave
He went on to found Tetra Homes Inc. in single-family (2011 to 2015) and Majorwave Corp. in multifamily (2015 to 2021), acquiring whole neighborhoods and multifamily communities and repositioning them into places people wanted to live. Over two decades, his 20 residential real estate funds and his companies delivered more than 10,000 homes and apartments across eight states and Washington, D.C., and he never ran a team larger than 25 people.
Fortuneo
At Fortuneo, he knows what a real estate borrower needs because he was one for two decades. William runs Fortuneo’s operations like a construction schedule: every loan has a plan, every draw is checked against progress in the field, and problems are caught and fixed early. He keeps servicing and operations teams lean and accountable and makes sure every business line runs on the platform’s controls before it grows.
Hallmarks of leadership
Total ownership
William takes ownership of whatever the work needs, from the first site walk to the last line of the budget.
Borrower’s-eye view
Two decades of building and financing real estate taught William what sponsors actually need, and where projects go wrong. He builds Fortuneo around both.
People first
He backs people before plans. A strong plan in the wrong hands stalls; the right team finds a way. He looks for hustle, grit and honesty, and he gives the same back.
Built through the cycle
He built through the 2008 housing collapse, bought while others sold, protected investors and kept his team together: the steadiness he brings when a market turns.
Lean teams, outsized output
More than 10,000 homes and apartments delivered without ever running a team larger than 25 people.
“I spent 20 years as the borrower. Fortuneo lends like someone who has been on the other side of the table.”
William Pohl III, Chief Operating Officer, Fortuneo
“Check the draw against the job site, every time.”
“Never quitting gives you an advantage over 99% of the people. My father taught me that, and I have built every company on it.”
Off the clock
William’s advice to every team he leads is his father’s: don’t quit. Outside the office, he rescues dogs (Ghost, Cookie, Willow and Bleu) and supports animal rescue, grows exotic fruit trees that have no business surviving an Ohio winter, and builds AI systems and websites late at night.

Every loan is only as good as what stands behind it: the asset, the market, and the people who run it. Suebina Wong learned to judge all three from the property side. For five consecutive years she was a nationally top-ranked real estate agent, and her deals ran from acquisitions to entering unfamiliar markets to repositioning assets in demanding metropolitan areas.
As Chief of Staff at Fortuneo, a collateral-first lending and specialty finance platform with planned insurance businesses, she works directly with Alexandra Pohl, Chief Executive Officer. She keeps Fortuneo’s priorities and governance on schedule, prepares the Investment Committee, manages internal communications, and connects the Office of the CEO with the leaders of Stata, Copia, Rota, Prora, and Annona, and with the work to establish Redux and Manens, the company’s planned insurance businesses.
Her discipline was built in intelligence. Suebina gave twelve years to the U.S. Intelligence Community, including six of active Army service as a Senior SIGINT Geospatial Analyst who led a mission team in support of Enduring Freedom and Resolute Support in Afghanistan and Iraqi Freedom and New Dawn in Iraq. The work meant translating uncertain data into plans others could rely on, and she went on to instruct more than a thousand intelligence professionals working for the government. In a business built on careful underwriting, that habit of verifying before acting is an asset.
Credit investors ask hard questions about risk, and they deserve direct answers. As Head of Investor Relations at Fortuneo, a collateral-first lending and specialty finance platform with planned insurance businesses, McCory King is the one who gives them. He represents Fortuneo to limited partners, family offices, institutional allocators, and other capital partners, reporting to William Pohl III, Chief Operating Officer, and working alongside Alexandra Pohl, Chief Executive Officer.
Risk management runs through McCory’s career. Across more than 20 years in financial services, strategic operations, risk, and technology, he has advised Fortune 500 companies and state clients on treasury services at Bank of America and, as a Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. Department of State, led high-consequence initiatives and information security efforts where every decision had to be weighed carefully before it was made.
At Fortuneo he leads investor engagement, capital-raising initiatives, due diligence, and portfolio reporting across the company’s lending and finance lines (Stata, Copia, Rota, Prora, and Annona) and keeps investors informed as Redux and Manens, its planned insurance businesses, are established. He presents credit the way investors want to see it: the collateral, the borrower, the risks, and how each is being managed.
McCory’s education includes a Master of Science in Intelligence Management from the University of Maryland Global Campus and an undergraduate degree in communications from Old Dominion University.
A loan is only as sound as the analysis behind it. As Head of Research at Fortuneo, a collateral-first lending and specialty finance platform with planned insurance businesses, Joe Tobin is responsible for that analysis. He reports to William Pohl III, Chief Operating Officer, and works alongside Alexandra Pohl, Chief Executive Officer.
Joe supports Fortuneo’s lending and finance lines (Stata, Copia, Rota, Prora, and Annona) and the planned Redux and Manens insurance businesses with sector and collateral market research, benchmarks, and the return and risk models behind each opportunity. He supplies the data sections of investment committee memos and builds the screening frameworks that help the team rank opportunities on evidence.
Precision is a habit Joe built in a regulated setting. He spent ten years as a biotechnology subject matter expert in gene and cell therapy protein purification, where a process either meets its specification or it does not. Promoted to lead manufacturer and department supervisor, he set priorities, developed staff, and kept his team accountable, and his department oversaw more than 20 drug molecules through development and distribution to patients in critical condition. Clients valued his candor and his ability to turn specialized findings into clear recommendations. Separately, he has spent 12 years producing and directing live sports entertainment events.
Joe holds an honors degree in biochemistry from Towson University (2015). Outside work he is a disciplined bodybuilder and enjoys paddleboarding and epoxy resin art.
Lending depends on trust, and trust depends on how carefully a firm handles what it is told. Julia Tripline, Office Manager at Fortuneo, has spent her career in roles that required that kind of care. Fortuneo is a collateral-first lending and specialty finance platform with planned insurance businesses.
Julia reports to William Pohl III, Chief Operating Officer, and serves as assistant to him and to Alexandra Pohl, Chief Executive Officer. She runs the office and front desk, welcomes borrowers and partners, and manages leadership’s calendars, travel, and expenses across Fortuneo’s lending and finance lines (Stata, Copia, Rota, Prora, and Annona) and the planned Redux and Manens insurance businesses. She also oversees office vendors, supplies, security, and equipment, and she brings each new hire on board.
As an Air Force veteran with more than eight years of experience in executive aviation, global operations, program management, and organizational leadership, Julia worked in sensitive environments that required discretion, sound judgment, and precision. She supported senior national and military leadership during domestic and international operations, coordinated across organizations, and stayed effective under pressure. In a business built on confidential financial information, those habits are part of how the office protects every relationship.
In instructional and leadership roles, she also managed training and qualification programs for hundreds of personnel and helped senior Air Force leaders turn complex operational requirements into practical organizational solutions, including a new aviation career field. She approaches Fortuneo’s office the same way, with clear procedures and careful follow-through.
Julia holds a Bachelor of Science in Cultural Anthropology and an Associate of Science in Space Technology and is pursuing a Master of Science in Intelligence Management. An Oregon native, she enjoys running, baking, exploring new places, and the outdoors with her two dogs.
